摘要 | Recently, we published the extraction, purification, and characterization of exopolysaccharide (EPS) from Lactobacillus helveticus MB2-1. In this study, the selective cytotoxic effects of LHEPS-3 fraction isolated from EPS of L. helveticus MB2-1 against human HepG-2 liver cancer cells and human HT29 colon cancer cells were evaluated. Results indicated that LHEPS-3 could significantly inhibit the proliferation of HepG-2 and HT29 cells in a dose- and time-dependent manner, and the inhibitory effects on HepG-2 cells were better than HT29 cells. In addition, with the increase of LHEPS-3 concentration (0-600 mu g/mL), the incubation time (0-48 h), and the migration rate of HepG-2 cells gradually decreased. LHEPS-3 could also inhibit the neovascularization of chicken embryo chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) in a dose-dependent manner. Furthermore, the structure of LHEPS-3 was clarified by methylated analysis, one- and two-dimensional nuclear magnetic resonance (1D and 2D NMR), thereby the repeating units of LHEPS-3 were predicted. |
