摘要	Objective:Cervical cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in women worldwide.Volatile anesthetics is widely used during cervical cancer surgery.Therefore,this study was set to investigate the effects of volatile anesthetics on proliferation,migration and invasion of squamous cervical cancer cells.Methods:The cervical cancer cell Caski was cultured and then exposed to 1%,2% or 3% sevourane and isoflurane in a purposely built cell culture chamber filled with 5% CO2 balanced with air for 2 h,respectively.They were subsequently cultured in a normal cell incubator in 5% CO2/95% air.Cell proliferation was determined through the CCK-8 assay and immunofluorescence assay.Their migration and invasion potential were evaluated with the Transwell assay.Results:There was no effect of sevoflurane on the proliferation of Caski cells.However,isoflurane significantly enhanced the proliferation of Caski cells.It was also confirmed that isoflurane,but not sevoflurane,increased the expression of Ki-67 in Caski cells.Both sevoflurane and isoflurane exposure also promoted cell migration and invasion ability in Caski cells which was also concentration-and post-gas exposure recovery time-dependent.Conclusion:This study demonstrated that both sevoflurane and isoflurane enhanced migration and invasion of squamous cervical cancer cells.Isoflurane,but not sevoflurane,promoted the cell proliferation of squamous cervical cancer.Whether these in vitro data can be reproduced in an in vivo setting together with the underlying molecular mechanisms warrant to be studied further.
